Why burmese cat?
Burmese cat is the love of a lifetime.
When my mom needed to buy a cat, I did not think (because of lack of thought) - how and by what criteria I will do it - and just looked at pictures on the Internet, chose the most beautiful cat (in my mind), bought it and brought it home to my parents. Cats live up to 20 years and another 10 years we (ie, my mom) will endure the hair, flying literally everywhere (about couches, I'm not even talking), stripped wallpaper and all the charms of the "Nordic" character ...
Therefore, my first cat in an apartment, I chose for a long time
- As before there were no cats in the family, and were only dogs, and experience with dogs was quite large: I decided to approach, as well as to dogs and knew exactly what to watch:
- character, temperament, and breed habits (in general breed)
- Moulting or not moulting
- grooming (a lot or a little)
- nutrition
- overall health
I am deeply convinced (confirmed by experience of a lifetime) that no matter how beautiful an animal is (especially in other people's photos), it looks great - we are animals.
I'm deeply convinced (confirmed by experience throughout his life) that no matter how beautiful the animal would be, no matter how outwardly (especially in other people's photos) beneficial and wonderful it does not look - we do not live with beauty.
We do not live with character, with temperament (compare a fox terrier and a
Saint Bernard!!!) We live with the need to "move" their personal
space and give the new family member (cat, dog) some space nearby. And as will be the boundary between you and a cat, whether you will live soul to soul, to coincide, or there will be constant clashes, hatreds and confrontation of characters - that's really important! The human patience is not infinite - from a kitten MIMIMI can be tolerated, hoping that will grow up, will understand ... defer to the reaction ... and the adult cat, but every day ... Yes, when the work is late ... or when from
Or when you come home from work tired and have no energy to do anything - and here are presents!!...😡
That is why it is necessary to choose the breed of cat (dog) responsibly.
Answer honestly to myself - what do I want from a cat? How do I
See my life with her? What do I want to see in it - and what I can never tolerate.
And on the basis of this already choose the breed of cat.
Answering your own criteria for choice, according to the BURMESE CAT:
- character, temperament and breed habits (in general by breed)
Burmese are wonderful cats by the type of nervous system!
(Disinhibition equals lethargy, i.e. excitability and sedation are ABSOLUTELY adequate to the situation - the owner plays - I play, the owner does not play - I sleep, so on) Probably we should add that burmese are deeply social breed and need a man, we can say, live in SIMBIOZE with the owner. What does the owner, does and burmese cat - the mistress watering flowers, and burma controls - whether it is not much, not little ... mistress sweeps the floor - burmese cat ass check - whether the pile of garbage ... etc. It is not temperament, it is a psychological need of the breed and you have to be ready for it - if you strain the constant communication - you probably should not get this cat.
But for children - burmese cat ideal friend. Always around, always
ready to support you in any matter - homework - so let's do homework: ... "you're holding the pen wrong, look how you should ... and you have no place to write - see, I'm lying on the notebook" ... ... to play is to play.
Burmese have a reduced reaction to stress - i.e. a normal cat,
when she's scared, uncomfortable, and unhappy, she gets defensive,
but the burmese cat is so open to the world that in the same situation it will go exploring, getting to know, being curious. Aggression is reduced at times, and that's why persistent molestation of children does not irritate burmese cat. Burmese generally need close contacts - they need what to be stroked, rubbed, carried in their arms... i.e. the distance between a cat and a man should be minimal. I do not know burmese
cat - which would be tired of communication. I can get tired, but not them...
- Moulting or not, grooming
Burmese have very little undercoat, so molting is hardly
noticeable. If the cat is properly fed, healthy and doesn't live in a dirty room, you won't even notice molting.
Burmese molt most often when the heating is on
(Burmese breed is thermophilic and when it gets even warmer, burma's organism thinks that "winter" is over and "summer" came and it is necessary to change fur coat for summer one), and during a week it is enough to stroke your cat two times a day with special mitten - to take out the dead hair. Everything. No more manipulations do not need to do. Hair in a healthy cat looks great by itself. The question of bathing or not - at the discretion of the owners. Actually, there's no need to do it - even after giving birth the cat will wipe its own shine within a couple of days. But if you like - then please, bathe the cat - but according to the rules, and do not arrange the cat stress. You should get used to it gradually from a young cat's age.
- Nutrition and health in general
Burmese cat is an elite breed and, needless to say, expensive. So
Spare your investment - do not feed your cat a sprat. Food premium, super-premium class (well, if you really want to - then holistic) and be sure to natural meat additive with bone content of about 40% - is either raw chicken necks once or twice a day, or daily chickens (without yolk), or raw chicken heads - your choice. but the cat - obligate predator (google to help), consider it.
These are my musings I decided to entrust to paper - that
Cat lovers who want to buy a kitten - did it consciously. Not under the influence of a beautiful picture, but as a result of good and extensive mental work. And with all responsibility, of course.
